Meet the Band
Lucy
Lucy is the fire at the centre of Newton's Cradle—a singer with a voice that can turn a room inside out and still leave it wanting more. Equal parts precision and abandon, she threads razor-sharp phrasing through raw, full-bodied power, delivering performances that feel less like “songs” and more like events. When she’s not fronting Newton's Cradle, Lucy’s range speaks for itself: she also features in Kickin' Up Stones and Sax in the City, moving effortlessly between projects while keeping one thing constant—an unmistakable presence that demands attention.
Jay
Jay is the engine room of Newton’s Cradle—a drummer with the rare ability to be both the backbone and the spark. His playing locks the band into a tight, heavyweight groove, then cracks it open with sharp accents and explosive dynamics right when it counts. Whether it’s driving a chorus into lift-off or pulling a track back into a tense, controlled simmer, Jay plays with authority, taste, and serious intent. In a band built on momentum, he’s the one who controls the gravity.
Adrian
Adrian is the sonic architect of Newton’s Cradle—a guitarist who can make a riff feel like a statement and a single note feel like a warning. His playing moves effortlessly between razor-edged precision and wide-screen atmosphere, stitching melody and menace into a sound that’s instantly recognisable. Whether he’s carving out hook-heavy lines that stick for days or building towering textures that swallow the room, Adrian plays with intent, control, and a fearless sense of dynamics. He doesn’t just play guitar in the band—he defines the shape of it.
Phil
Phil is the low-end cornerstone of Newton’s Cradle—the bassist who makes the whole band hit harder, groove deeper, and move as one. His lines don’t just follow the song; they drive it, locking in with the drums to create a foundation that’s both heavy and agile. Whether he’s laying down a warm, hypnotic pulse or pushing a section forward with melodic movement and bite, Phil plays with a feel that’s unmistakable: tight, musical, and relentlessly solid. He’s the gravity in the sound—everything else swings around it.
